  • I know its early but wanted to post something and see who all was planning on coming to Philly the night before the BOE.

Since the bars are only open until 2 am night life starts a little earlier then NY and upstate NJ.

I talked to several people from different teams and it seams that everyone was against having any type of formal tournament.  I have a few people crashing at my house and what we were thinking is pregaming at a bar and playing some pong cash games and so forth.
The best place to play pong that wont be crowded and will allow us to gamble and even put beer in the cups if you want is Gallagers.  Its 10 minutes from the hotel and a $15 cab ride.
I plan on heading out about 8 or 9 and staying there until about 11.
Gallagers is only 5 minutes from where all the bars are.
Depending on what most people want to do I could suggest a few good places to hit up after.
We could do either a Cheap bar like an Irish pub, a club/lounge or a bar with a DJ.
My wifes cousin owns 6 of the more popular places in the city so we wont have to worry about lines and shit and prob can get a special wherever we decide to go. Let me know what everyones plans are.

  • To comment on Kessler's post, I know a few of the MD guys and I are planning on playing the WPT satellite in Ardmore. I MapQuested it and its roughly 20-25 mins from McFaddens, so it would be a great warm-up for the BoE the next day.

  • Yup that is an option as well.  Bad part is it starts at 7.  If your leaving from the hotel give yourself an hour.  I 76 is one of the worst roads in PA.  Traffic like the cross bronx or the beltway.

After the BotE last year, I'm definitely not trying to play in an organized tournament the day before. I did get my hotel room for Friday so if anyone wants to play some low key games and then go out somewhere, I'm down.

  • I posted this about a week ago for anyone coming in early.  A bunch of us are meeting at Galaghers (address below) Friday night before we go out.

    2200 Pennsylvania Ave
    Philadelphia, PA 19130
    (215) 751-0988

We're pregaming there and playing pong probably from 730 to about 10ish.  It is one of the few bars any where in Philly that has tables for cash games.

Whoever makes it see ya then.

Most of the Midwest squad should be getting in around that time as well. We're not looking to do anything crazy Friday night, so a small chill tourney sounds good. I'll shoot you a text closer to Friday.
