  • We have the most important details for the event confirmed.  Any conflicting issues with WPT for this day have been taken care of and the bar is signing the MD Beer pong official tournamnet agreement form to book the location.

    Date -  Saturday March 20th
Location - Mcfaddens Ballpark main room ( Philadelphia )
    Start time 1230  ( warmups 1130)

Each team will have 10 members on it ( Total team entry $500 )
Garrett will post a pay-pal link so everyone can pay their entry fee.

There are still a few issues that Mike V and Garret are going to iron out one being random transplants on certain teams.  I know this seams to be a comcern with a lot of players so whatever rule they come up with were gonna have to live with.  I personally like the rule of one transplant player as long as they have some ties to their state.  Obviously you cant recruit any Cali guys and so forth.

They will also post the format and any additional info in the next couple of days so check back on this post for updates.

8:00 there will be a WPT qualifier with all previous partner restrictions removed.   ANYONE CAN PLAY WITH WHOEVER.  Normal 1st place prize as well.

  • If theres a midwest team coming and/or transplants on other teams with players not from the region theyre playing for, then I don't see any problem if we decide to scoop a west coast transplant player.

This is not an unreasonable point made, but the 2 problems we are trying to address are:
    1.  Dream teams being formed
    2. East coast players that want to play not having a team.

  • Any and all captains or potential captains please email me ASAP so we can start to officially put rosters together so that payments can be made online and rosters can be approved.

Yes Garrett and I will look at all the rosters and approve all of them.

Ultimately the decisions should be up to the team captains. I already know on most of the rosters there are questionable picks. This has to be addressed in one way or another because the whole argument that its a "beast of the east tourney" and no west coast players can play is out the window with a midwest team planning on attending. Also, the fact that there's multiple players already on rosters that don't represent the region they're from - we have to have a rule one way or another to enforce this, otherwise I think it's fair game.

This is coming from me, who captained the NY team last year, and was the only other squad, other than Maryland who's players were ALL actually from the area they were playing for.

  • I think a lot of people are bitching because a) they just like to bitch and b) because people think there are going to be dream teams established and that is not the case.

LI - will have one questionable player ( chichester ) Twig is not playing this year and Nj- will have Shep

The midwest will prob consist of players from a few different cities (chi, Stl ...)

I dont think we should really put too much thought into this.  Lets play it by ear.  I believe a big part of the violations last year was having to come up with 16 players.

  • I have ties to Rhode Island. If I get 9 other players from RI can I set a team up?

  • What about having 2 transplant players so if any west coast teams decide 2 play they could @ least play with there partner? West coast players should be able to play since the midwest has a team. I planned on having a all NY team again, but with the 10 man squads allot of players are trying 2 put 2gether there own teams. So with the NY talent being scarce I wouldn't mind picking up 2 out of state players. Most of the other teams did last year and will most likely be doing so this year.

  • problem is, with midwest at least its still kind of east - hence beast of the east - east of the mississippi or something i dunno - but west coast should not be allowed at all.

  • Me and Vince are coming up with the midwest team as we speak.  Most of our spots are filled and should have the full roster in a few days
