  • Unfortunately no. We wanted to do April 10th but McFaddens cant do then because of sporting events going on on that day.  We hoped to then do March 20th because Neil originally said they would move their WPT tournament to allow us to do BoE then, but now he said they cant move their tournament to the 21st so we can do the 20th.  April 24th is the only other possible date to do it at McFaddens but it depends on Basketball playoffs so we cant get a confirmation right now on that date either.

So now Kessler is looking into other possible venues, including the other McFaddens on 3rd st. Problem with that is BoE may take 8 hrs or so and most of the other big bars in philly get busy at night so we need a venue that will give us the whole place for the day.

Another idea is doing it at a hotel ball room if anyone has connections with hotels and can help get a hotel ballroom for free for us (considering we would be bringing in a ton of room reservations and alcohol sales).

Once  Kessler contacts a few other places, we will hopefully have some more info to provide everyone tomorrow.

  • Because WPT is doing their event on March 20th AT McFaddens where we want to do BoE. Originally Neil said he would move their event to the 21st so we could use McFaddens on the 20th to run BoE, but now they said they dont want to do that anymore.

We could do March 20th or March 27th or April 10th at another venue but the problem is finding another venue that can accommodate 160+ people and preferably at least 20-24 tables.

Goliath from NY works for holiday inn i think so maybe he can hook something up,  my issue is they would charge mad coin for booze and getting drunk on the cheap is a must for this event.

  • I completely agree which is why the other requirement would be to maybe try and reach out to the budlight or miller lite reps in the area to try and get us kegs for the event. It would help if we tied some sort of charity aspect into it. Maybe instead of giving some of the prize amount to charity (which a lot of people would bitch about), we could all bring items that could be donated to Haiti reliefs and show that the pong community can support too.  Just a thought.  Or get kegs donated and still charge per pitcher and give all those proceeds to charity.

Or maybe Goliath can help us both get a ballroom and get cheap drinks. But we were going to get $6 pitchers at McFaddens so I would like to stay around that range.

  • I dont think WPT would want to be pushed to the smaller room considering they had the space reserved first and didn't even bring that up as an option they would consider.  They wanted us to do our event on a sunday instead which will NOT happen since we have too many people commuting to the event.

I support the Haitian relief charity idea.  It would be called the Handjobs for Haitians Charity Tournament

  • lol.

Just got word from Kessler and we may actually be able to do it on March 20th. WPT agreed to move their satellite back to 7pm on the same day so if we start at 1pm, we would have 6 hours to get the majority of the tournament done.  Then people who are out of the tournament could play in the satellite (they may bend the rules to let everyone play in it, even if they have already won a bid). And if BoE is still going on, maybe we could run the remaining matches/tables to the side while WPT starts their tournament?

Not sure how smoothly that would all go by but if we want to do it at McFaddens then that is our only option.  Thoughts?
