Post subject: Bouncing Every Shot- Exploiting the rules

  • Peter, above me, makes a couple really good points, man. We're all cut from the same cloth. We all started out playing bounces are 2, same cup is 3, make both you get both balls back etc... And if money weren't a factor, i'd never have picked these rules up. In fact, when not playing for money, i find these rules completely boring and insufferable. I'd rather play "the old way" if im drinkin having a good time. But what it boils down to is money. When you can turn 20 bucks into 500 in 3 hours playing beer pong, its pretty enticing. I, as well as many other upper tier players, saw money in these rules, and adopted them solely for that reason. As pop said in his post, I GUARANTEE if you had a 50K Guarantee Grand Prize Tournament, that all of us were sure would run smoothly (as bpong has proved to us time and time again that theirs will), we would all adopt those rules and practice them til our fingers were pruning from dunking the ball in water as we have with these rules. If you want to be a beer pong purist, and get hammered when u play, and keep the rules as they were on ping pong tables, feel free. I, for one, could care less about the purity of the rules  or how authentic to "REAL" beer pong these rules are. Tell me the rules, put up money for grabs, and ill practice and come win some of that money. That's how I, along with just about everyone else one here, feels in regards to your feeling on this.

  • I havent been on here for awhile and to come back on and see this post.......i just have to smile.

    footofgod, you are a tool.

you say that the majority of the people who play beer pong dont play with our rules......so go on their website, oh wait they dont have one.......how about you enter one of their big tournaments, oh wait they dont have one.....the majority of beer pong players out there should get their shit together, the WSOBP is extremly popular and gets plenty of teams to come out every year, and we are just the minority. imagine if the majority of beer pong players got together, you guys would be twice as big as BPONG.COM and you wouldnt have to waist our time with ur bullshit.

my best argument for you is to compare house party beer pong to backyard football and the nfl to bpong.com......playing football with a group of friends is alot more fun then strapping on pads and playing offical football with all their rules and regulations. but in order for the nfl to do what they do, they need these rules to keep the game fair, legitimate and official. the same goes for beer pong. you may have more fun playing with all your rules but in order to make the game more official, YOU HAVE TO TRIM THE FAT. all the extra rules come from drunks looking to drink more and make the game easier. bpong focuses on the main point of the game: toss a ping pong ball into a plastic cup. the rest of bpongs rules are their to keep the game as fair as possiable with less likely chanche of disputes and arguments.

look at Vince Mcmahon, he tried to say the nfl was soft and started the XFL. he basically talked about the nfl, the same way house party beer pong players talk about the WSOBP.....he tried to make it more exciting and what not (for example, instead of flipping a coin two players raced out and the first one to get the ball, their team decided who got ball first), but just like when people try to host a college style beer pong tournament, the XFL flopped!!
