Post subject: WSOBP Satellite & More FOLLOWING the Beast of the East

  • Thats right errbody. Immediately following the Beast of the East tournament, we will be holding 2 additional tournaments, 1 for a another company that I won't name to keep this post from being deleted, and another for the WSOBP.

    Date:  Saturday Sept 19th

Time:  Approximately 3pm (No idea how long the BOE will run for. It starts at 1:30pm and the tournament will start following that, so try to plan accordingly or just come early and watch the crazy competition going on).

Place: McFadden's @ Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia (NOT THE ONE ON 3RD STREET - THIS IS ATTACHED TO CITIZENS BANK PARK)

    Price: $25/person

Prize: Free Entry into the WSOBP V in January 2010

We are not putting a limit on the # of teams playing and may even allow double teams with 2 different partners. This will be decided on later.

Again, please note, this is going on AFTER the Beast of the East tournament. Therefor it is a little difficult to judge correct time the Satellite will start. I say 3pm because I doubt the BOE will be over then, but it at least gets people there before the start.

We also don't know which 1 will be first, the WSOBP satellite or the other one. Either way, why wouldnt you want to play in both? 2 tournaments for huge prizes, why the fuck not?

Also again, please note there are 2 McFaddens in Philadelphia. The tournaments are at the one LITERALLY ATTACHED TO CITIZENS BANK PARK (where the Phillies play, ugh) and NOT on 3rd ave.

To start signing up, you can paypal $40 and the name of your team to steve(at)wetshotsbeerpong.com

Any questions - hit that email or post them here.

There will be no beer in the cups during the BoE or the tournaments thereafter.  I think Kessler was working out some sort of drink/pitcher  specials for the day.

  • Not to be a party pooper, but do you really think BOE will be done by 3:00?

Didn't the first one take forever?

Most tournaments don't start on time, and the format of the event seems to be fairly complex. A normal 32-team double elimination tournament usually takes around three hours to finish.

I can just see this whole thing being a huge clusterfuck, and with the players who aren't in the BOE starting to show up midway through the tournament, it's going to get pretty crazy. Especially because you know those guys are going to strongarm their way onto open tables causing more confusion.

Yea highly doubt it will be done by 3:00, actually that's probably a good estimate when the BOE will start.  I highly doubt all the teams will be punctual especially considering the distances they have to travel.  Realistically probably just looking at one satellite IMO although maybe 2 can happen if staying till the bar closes.  Yes people showing up at 3:00 for a satellite could make things messy when the tourney hasn't started yet but w.e. I think its a great idea having a satelite after  with everything already set up.

Yea i doubt it will be over at 3 but, the problem is nobody really knows what it will be over. From what i understand the place is huge so it shouldnt get too crowded. We just didn't want to shutout any outsiders. I honestly don't think too many people that arnt already playing in the BOE will show up. Most of the people that would come will already be there.

I just said 3 so that people didnt get there late and get pissed off.

  • well if 1 satellite has to happen, we should make it the WSOBP since that had to be paid for upfront. The other one we don't have to pay for til later so if it doesn't happen it's not that big of a deal. I guess if WSOBP doesnt happen either at least I got 2 codes lol.

    Agreed.

WSOBP Bids > Any other kind of bid.

I definitely think we'll have enough time to get in at least the WSOBP bid. I hope so, at least.
