I also want to make sure that all the people I've met over the years that I like hanging out with will also be there. Kinda pointless to make all that effort going, otherwise. For example, I'm still not sold on the King of the Cups singles tourney, cause who knows what will actually happen with that. I play beer pong because I love the competitive edge along with drinking at the same time. The money is just a bonus. I would rather put my money in hands I trust rather than some no names trying to make a quick dollar.

I imagine that is how most serious player's would feel, but you never know.

You will have the loyalist to SOCAL BEERPONG that will be attending your event but overall I think the nonregulars of socals inner circle will be attending the large prize. Sorry to stir the pot Mike, the ridiculous question reworded... What gets people to commit to come to a big event? Prize $ is always a focus, and how much fun people have at events isn't always discussed.

Unfortunately, IMO prize money will trump the other factors.
