  • I am new to the official rules and wanted to get some information.
Im stilll in college and I'm used to playing on 8 ft ply wood tables.   We have 30-40 team  fraternity tournaments and I normally fair pretty well however want to try and bring the official rules to my school.
I played at a tournament tonight and lost in the finals so was haappy with 2nd place.
The team we lost to had a kid on it who went 8 for 8 in the finals and through the entire tournament only saw him miss 1 or 2 shots.  I was told that he was one of the best in the world.  Are there a lot of players that just dont miss?
I lean some but do the majority of the players lean to the middle of the table?
Also is there a rule about shooting with 1 foot in the air?

Are the rules on this page the most commonly played?
What size cups are the official cups.
I want to buy a few tables for our house are they all the same size ?
where is a good place to see big cash tournaments in PA or DE?

missing 1 to 2 shots over an entire 20-30 team tourney is a little ridiculous, not sure If mike paps can even do that. tell this kid from the tourney to call me asap so I can sign him to a long term incentive based contract.

  • The tables sold on this website are all the same size, and are the same dimensions as tables use in most all serious/official/regulation tournaments.  If you look at the product description you can see the dimensions.
The same goes for cups, the cups dimensions are displayed on this site as well.  The cups used by bpong are a bit skinnier and taller than red cups which I've seen used on most college campuses (not sure what you are using though).
There aren't any players that don't miss. Everyone misses, some people will shoot perfect games, multiple perfect games in a row is very rare.
Pretty much everyone who is good in the competitive beer pong world leans enough where at the very least their whole arm is over the table as well as some of their body.  Leaning all the way to the middle of the table though, that is pretty rare.  You can shoot with one foot in the air as well, you can even tough the side of the table with your leg/hip as long as you are not touching the top of the table.  This is all explained in the rules on this website as well.  The rules here are played in the world series of beer pong as well as wsobp satellite tournaments.  The only different set of rules you are likely to find in well run, official tournaments would be the world beer pong tour rules, which only slightly vary.

Since Barry didn't really help you there, I'll answer your questions.

The majority of people that lean don't really have the arm length to reach middle of the table. Those that do, will, but even then, it doesn't make it easier as some claim. I'm 6ft and can't reach the middle of the table. Though I've seen guys shorter than me reach. Shooting like that puts you off balance and I promise they don't hit every single shot. Shooting with one foot in the air is allowed.

The rules on this page are most common in tournaments. Tournaments may have different rules, as would your frat houses and house parties, but generally speaking, if you go to a tournament, these rules are played or at least something similar. You won't find house rules like "bright it back, behind the back" or "two in 1 cup game over".

Cups are 16 ounces. Fabrikal RK16s. You can buy them in bulk on some restrauant supply stores online (google "RK16") or just buy the ones they have on this site.

All the tables on this site are the same size and the best quality i've found (i've own 10 tables of my own, Bpong's I find are the best). They are 8ft long, 2 ft wide, and 27.5 inches high.

You can find tournaments in Philly, NJ, MD and NYC pretty regularly. Look up www.mdbeerpong.com, www.phillybeerpong.com, www.worldpongtour.com, www.sjpong.com, as well as doepong.net (not up yet, should be soon).

This is actually not true.  The cups are made by us (BPONG), and the dimensions vary slightly from Fabri-Kal's RK16 cups.  Additionally, they are made of a different material.

True. The older ones were RK16, I forgot all about the new ones for whatever reason. Either way, just buy them from bpong, support the cause, and get all your frats buddies to start playing with these rules. Then convince them to sign up for the world series of beer pong next year and lets make this SOB grow even bigger.

Ha Yeah I need to spend less time at beer pong and more time with my wife.
Kids were cool though gave them some advice to take back to their school hopefully they do and it will help the sport grow.  The leaning was not that big of a deal to them but oddly enough the 2 feet on the ground was causing major disputes interesting enough
