  • So Austin and I practiced last night with the rules and I've got a few questions for those of you familiar with WPT rules:

    1. Does centering the final cup count as a rerack?

    2. Suppose you have one or two reracks remaining that you didn't use in regulation. What's the rule in using these in rebuttals?

Reracks are really 6,4,3, or 2 - There have been times where I've had a rack left and used it as a rack, and there have been times where people center it automatically out of habit, guess it really depends.

You can only rack at the beginning of rebuttal if you have a rackable rack (?) - after that, you can not re-rack. So if you have 4 left, and hit 2, you can't rack at 2 in rebuttal.

I dont think centering the last cup counts as a re-rack...its a "gentlemans rack"

    Nope. It does count.

The last WPT tourney I went to, Sam was running it and I asked him if we were allowed to ask the opponents to push back and center the last cup. His answer was no. For me, I'd rather have the last cup pushed all the way back and centered, as I've practiced most on that shot. That's probably the reason why it counts as a rack.

    No gentlemen's racks here, boys.
