  • Ok, so a few weeks ago we had a tourney on a saturday it went well gave away a trip to vegas to the winners and they're free entry into the WBPT $50, 000 tourney

but they needed to provide the airfare...

    So I got to thinking

Why don't we supply the AIRFARE to?

Would anyone on here travel to Williamstown, NJ for a 64 capped tourney for a trip to vegas where the flight is taken care of as well for the winners??

  • Nothing against WPT but I think you will get a better response if you do a tourny for a WSBP bid especially since they are in demand now since its right around the corner.   The WPT is 8 months away.   The  thing with the flight is a great idea but would prob be easier to offer a cash prize on top of the bid to use toward your flight.
I would definately make the trip.

  • i agree with kessler ws bid is 2 months away wbpt is in june. i dont see why u wouldnt do satellites for both. airfare would entice more teams to come out. if u email sam pines of wbpt he ran WS bids with flights last year. we had to pay 180 or something for the taxes anyways. i would say a cash prize like 1k for flights spending money and the bids would be the best way to do it and deff be the biggest satellite prize so get a big venue to run it at.

  • i am not enticed by airfare

it's a pain in the ass having someone else book your trip for you.
it would be more appealing if you were contributing a lump cash sum on top of the satellite, and then the winners could use that for the tickets on their own

  • 2 bids for winners is a very enticing prize.  $1100 value or w.e. Why not pay out to 2nd?? Am I the only one that think its weak that only firt place gets something???

  • [not a bad point. but hes trying to use the free flights to get more teams im sure. people arent gona go hey 2nd gets money lemme go to lose. id say do money and bids for 1st and money for 2nd also. both will be fair. im just saying no1 goes to tournys bc 2nd place has a decent prize amount ppl look at what 1st place gets.

  • Winning a set of codes is usually enough to get people interested in a tourney.  Any additional money that could go to prizes is nice to go to flights, but spreading the wealth around is a lot better for prospective growth (in my opinion of course).  For this year's WS, bpong has opened up the coffers for an additional 15k to be spread to 2nd-9th places.  I'm pretty sure everyone agrees this is awesome... and no one is arguing that the additional money should just go towards 1st place.

I would do this if it was on a saturday. It sucks living in VA, cuz the closest satellite is a 8 hr. drive. And it seems like theres too many tourneys on mondays and fridays. Its hard to get a commitment out of 2 people to make an 8 hr drive, spend money for a hotel/food/gas, and have to take a day off work.

So if its on a saturday, I would definately go if I can talk my partner in to it!
