  • There are actually 4 different possible rebuttal situations and rules that apply.
     
    Situation 1:
     
    One cup left on each side.  Team A makes the last cup with their first shot of the turn.  
    Team B gets ONE shot at the last cup and either player can take the shot.
     
    Situation 2:
     
    One cup left on each side.  Team A makes the last cup with the 2nd shot of the turn in any case.
    Team B gets 2 shots at the last cup.  This is the only rebuttal situation where the rebutting team is afforded a miss.
     
    Situation 3:
     
    Team A makes the last cup and Team B has 3 cups left to hit.  Team B must alternate the first 2 shots.  If both cups are made than either player may take the 3rd shot.
     
    Situation 4:
     
    Team A makes the last cup and Team B has 2,4,5,6,7,8,9,or 10 cups left to hit.  Team B must alternate shots and make all remaining cups without missing.
