  • The scenario: You have 7 or 4 cups left, the other team makes 2 cups meaning there are 5 or 2 left... How does the re-rack work after that? Do you make the triangles but just have one left out?

  • I dont know the rules completely but i posted a topic about re-racks not too long ago and they re-rack mid turn so i think there would of already been a 6 cup rack and a 3 cup rack then the other person would hit the cup. Somebody correct me if i am wrong.

  • There is no right answer - there are so many variations of the game.

However, sgib88 correctly stated how we handle it at The WSOBP - you rereack midturn, thereby never creating the situation you described.

  • what if you forget to ask for the re-rack midturn and you end up with the 5 cup or 2 cup situation. This happened frequently in our league, which plays with WSOBP rules however most the guy play at home that you can't re-rack midturn. So they forgot and the other teams usually refused to re-rack

I'd assume that you have to wait till the next time to re-rack for being an idiot/drunkass and not asking for the rack immediately.

you clearly dont play with WSOBP rules if that's the case.  In WSOBP one person would make it, bringing it to 6 or 3 cups, then a re-rack would occur, then the other shot would be taken.  Not to say thats the only way you can do it.  I play at home where you have 2 re-racks per game, can ask for a re-rack only at the beginning of your turn, but you can ask for any shape you want.  Its also an ongoing joke that its always in terms of genitalia (extra long penis with 3 balls, vagina with extra ball, etc).

no, we do play with WSOBP rules, but some people forget to ask because they don't usually play that way. But from reading the WSOBP rules it says that re-racks are automatic at 6 and 3, it's the non-shooting teams responsibility to automatically re-rack. So if this doesn't happen and you end up at 5 cups without a re-rack happening, can you ask for those 5 cups to be re-racked?

honestly... having played a ton of games, according to wsobp rules, with people who do know the rules well, and some that don't, i've yet to see someone fail to rerack and the shooting team fail to realize it.

based on the principles of darwinism you really shouldn't be allowed to ask for the rerack just because you're partner's the idiot who threw at the cups without noticing... but the rules simply say "Cups must be reformed at 6, 3, and 1 cups remaining"  so, it should be reracked no matter what the circumstances.  so my interpretation is that even if you're in the middle of a turn it should be reracked, because the rules state that they "must be reformed" and don't say "unless someone is an idiot"
