  • When are the stats from last year finally going to come out? Also, why not make the last day of competition , especially the final 32, best out of three for every game. The tournament ended early in the day last year?

    I don't think that's feasible.

If you lose first round of a double elimination tournament 32-team tournament, you'll have to play 11 games total to win.  If you played best 2 out of 3 for every game that could potentially be 33 games of beer pong which is a little crazy.

And the tournament did end early in the day but it also started early. When you're in Vegas I'd rather have the evenings free anyhow.

  • Yeah, I would definitely agree that best two-out-of-three is unfeasible for the final bracket. While the tournament did end a little early last year, there definitely would not be even close to enough time to implement what you're asking for.

Honestly, I think that having a double-elimination final bracket provides more than enough margin of error for teams. To me, the excitement of the WSOBP is that anyone can pull off that amazing streak and win it all (i.e. ctfk last year)

  • As soon as I clear everything else off my to-do list, I will get to stats.  There is a lot of behind the scenes, upcoming stuff that I am taking care of right now but I am hoping to get to it Very Soon.

  • I'll vouch for Duncan.  Essentially, our number one priority is getting ready to take sign ups for WSOBP IV, which we are making much more difficult on ourselves than necessary in order to create a more perfect end user experience.  It's taking us longer than we'd like to get to WSOBP III stats, but we're setting up the platform that will *hopefully* allow us to have near realtime stats at IV.
