Post subject: Anyone play with a "Money Ball" Rule? Your thought

  • We instituted a rule where each team gets to declare one "money ball" shot per game. If the player sinks the shot, the opposing team drinks 2 cups. If the player misses the shot, his team loses 1 cup.

I have rarely come across it in other places, just wondering what you guys think of such a rule. It definitely makes things more interesting, obviously when it's down to 2 cups vs. 1 cup.

  • is the monkey ball a regular shot, or do you have to shoot it like a monkey?

  • the money shot is very common in the st. louis area tournements. I also found it common in many area colleges, more then likely from students in the st. louis area going to school in the areas i have played in.  Its a great shot, but what you didn't add is usually a money shot if not made in that cup, will not count... so if you call front cup, miss front cup but make in the bitch cup, then the shot doesn't count. Its an all or nothing kind of shot.

  • i like the rule better now that ta11ba11er added the call the cup part of the rule... other wise you could just call your money shot at the beginning of every game for the best chance at making the other team drink 2... but if you have to call a specific cup then that sounds alright.

probably not somthing we will use unless we are looking for something different one night but its not to bad of an idea.
