I have always thought along the lines of this being the last chance for a better team that had a bad streak to make it up.

I couldn't agree with you more...

I mean, what if we put a ping pong ball in EVERY cup to start out with, and if you make it into a cup but it bounces out because of the ball that's in there, then it doesn't count?  Does that sound appealing to you?  Because it doesn't to me...

yes, that sounds awesome to me. if you can't make a cup that already has a ball in it, then you suck. you're not unlucky, you just suck.

i wasn't saying that we should be leaving balls in at the world series. they most likely won't have close-outs or any form of double cupping, so it doesn't matter. read this again and tell me if you think the world series would ever allow something this bush-league:

I've played with the rules of shooting multiple times at the last cup (to close out the game), but the idiot didn't take the ball out... so I shoot the ball into the cup, it hits the other ball still in the cup, and bounces out, and the other guy doesn't want to count it because it didn't stay in the cup, lol...

in a tournament, i agree. if they allow you to make the last cup more than once, then take the ball out. if i'm just playing in my friend's back yard, i'm going to leave the ball in if i can. close-outs are gay. that's all i was trying to say.

I was actually thinking about putting a ball in all cups this year; I might even put three or four in each cup for good measure.

  • im new at the wsobp but i am by no means new to beer pong and imho the best parts of beer pong is the competitiveness, the skill, and the comebacks.  There is nothing better than being down four cups when the other team hits the last cup and hitting all four of the cups without your teammate even shooting.  i think the only way to end it w/o redemption should be if there is one cup and both you and your teammate hits the cup.  The other team should be allowed to leave the ball in the cup and they should also be allowed to move the ball to the back.  This adds more skill to the game and more competitiveness, all you need to do is put a little backspin on the ball or hit inner rim first and the ball will go in anyways.  I also believe that when the other team only hits the last cup once then both players from the other should be allowed to shoot til they miss.  I believe these rules will promote the most competition, require the most skill , and allow for amazing comebacks.
