    Post subject: advancing to double elimination

  • This will be my first time going to the WSOBP and I was wondering whats a typical record for advancing. My partner and I guessed that if you're 8-4 or at least 9-3 during the first two days you have a good chance of making it.
     
    Also, whats typically the prizes for second, third, and fourth place?

  • historically speaking:
     
    all 8-4 records have made day 3
    some 7-5 records have made day 3 (if they have a high cup differential)
     
    As far as prizes, 1st place pretty much takes everything
    the other prizes have been valued in 'hundreds' of dollars rather than 'thousands' so they don't really hold a candle to the 50k

  • Just based on normal record distributions, I would expect most, if not all of the 8-4's to make it back for day 3. There will probably be a few 7-5's as well.
