What is everyone complaining about?  If the team we are playing isn't drinking their beer, we drink it for them!  Hell, we finish any random cups that still have beer in them.  If you set a beer down, or move it to the side, it should be up for grabs for anyone who wants to drink it.  I am fine with people not drinking.  More for me!

Now, if those people didn't drink their beer and then wouldn't let me have it if we were playing them... then I would get pissed.  What a waste.

haha. You sound like our kind of guy. How often do you come to Vegas?

On the whole sobriety thing, its just the fact that they have a name that speaks of drinking but they dont even drink. I understand it was for the 50k. But come on, its called Beer Pong for a reason. If you dont want to drink then go to a knitting tourney or something.

  • Enough bullshit.  Where I come from, you just drink the damn beer.  Especially if your team name mentions drinking beer.  No matter who you are, one beer or so an hour isn't going to kill you, unless it's Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA ( http://www.dogfish.com/brewings/Occasio … /index.htm) or something of that sort.  If you can't handle it, or if you're a Mormon, maybe this isn't the game for you.  Darts requires a similar skill set but doesn't require drinking.  Try it out sometime, they have a world series too.

In the Stanford league, which I know people are tired of hearing me talking about, the semifinals and finals are held on the same night with a one-hour break in between.  Both are best-of-7 series and games are played with 12 cups, none of which have water in them.  Participants are expected to drink all the beer.  I know this somewhat of an extreme case and I don't expect anyone (except maybe Ron Hamilton, who is just on another level as far as drinking goes) to be as hardcore as these nerdy Stanford kids, but seriously, drinking one PBR is not that tough.  Maybe you're just carb-counting.  If that is the case, I will be happy to provide you with a complimentary case of Michelob Ultra next year.

Designated Warehousers, I think you're going to have to either man up and learn how to drink ONE beer or change your name.  How soft has this sport become?

i know these two guys very well and ive seen them get plastered more times than not while playing bp....

you also gotta remember like someone mentioned they were playing for the 50k and made it alot farther than everyone else because they got 4th.

maybe they were full or maybe they didnt wanna cross that line of being wasted and a solid buzz so their shot would be on when they were so close to getting to the finals.

i dunno either way i just figured id throw in my 2 cents....they were obviously doing something right by getting 4th LOL

  • Lester is a beer pong groupie. Haha.

I have nothing against the guys, they're both nice kids, but next year I nominate myself to be the Designated Drinker for the Designated Drinkers. I just couldn't get drunk enough on that last day at all. No matter what I fucking drank, nothing would give me a buzz. It was unreal.

  • First off, I'm not hating on the team's ability to play beer pong (because they're pretty damn good).  However, for the people trying to defend this team, I found it comical that even after the game in which they were eliminated they chose not to drink their beers. The chance of 50k was gone but the beer still remained.  They basically shit on their team name at that moment. THE END.

Alright guys, From the Designated Drinkers. I can hopefully clear up some of this bitching about not drinking the beer in the finals games.

First, I woke up at 7am and started drinking at O'sheas to get ready for the first round. By 11 am I have already drank 6-7 beers and was feeling good for our first game and by my calculations by the last game we played I was 9 games in so you figure I DRANK 15-16 beers on the day. I was pretty drunk slurring my words on camera. I couldnt even make cups the last game so I stopped drinking? What if I made it past 4th place and drank all my beer? I wouldnt be able to stand in the final game for $50,000 and what sense does that make.

So overall I know my limits and I was already past and there was $50,000 on the line. Im sure drinking to much beer had alot to do with the other 410 teams being in the bleachers watching the Designated Drinkers play on day 3.
