Peter, How many tables do plan on running for 128 teams?16 or so?
I ask because we will have 10 PDA's with us on that night and would love to have the entire East Coast vs. West Coast Tourney tracked. If anything we will just start keeping track when there are 10 tables left.

Great Idea in the way you are trying to get maximum east coast vs west coast teams to play each other and uphold double elim.

i noticed you copied over all the WSOBP IV teams on your site. i highly doubt that is legal if you are not affiliated with bpong.com and/or have permission from the teams.

you also created blogs of the team names on blogspot.com - some of those team names, especially the ones of websites are trademarked.

I find it weird that someone that runs a pong tracking site is calling out another site that is giving him competition and seems to be doing things that he did not think of.....let them do whatever they want....if they are doing ilegal stuff im sure billy or duncan will contact them.....dont be that guy

Wianek.. It may illegal but I must say the pongleague.net website is about 1000X cooler than yours. Looks like they may even have a reasonable way to keep accurate stats. Pongtracker.com is fucking shitty.

i'm just not a fan of taking credit for someone else's work and i'm sure the guys from bpong.com are not thrilled about it either.

as for the functionality, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and i'm going to refrain from making childish comments along the line of this or that is "fucking shitty"

  • really wish I could make the east vs. west but the WPT flight screwed me.

i have been doing everything I can to change it but it looks like I am getting in at 11pm
best I can do is to try to rebook entirely new flights for my GF and I, which is shitty.

    Wianek,

Similar to the way that fans create blogs, websites, online communities etc. about  their favorite teams, we have done this for participants in the world series. As far as "copying teams" I am not sure what you mean by this. In no way is what we have done illegal.

If you would not like to participate and would like to have your teams name removed, that can easily be arranged. We included your company out of respect and sportsmanship.

The intention of these blogs is to allow for each team to post public information about themselves so that the beer pong community can get to know them better before and during the event. These blogs will also allow us to update them with photos and videos during the tournament. We are simply putting in countless hours of work, so that teams can benefit from a free service.

If you or anyone else is interested in getting their blogs rolling, please view the "interview" link on our website.

I am no lawyer, but I would assume if the team names are available publicly then he hasn't violated any laws in listing what teams are going to the world series this year.

Of course common sense and legislature don't always agree.

legal or illegal, as i mentioned earlier i'm just not a fan of taking credit for someone else's work. i'm sure the guys from bpong.com are not thrilled about it either as they have been deleting many of the pongleague.net posts. they did the same when i tried to market my site on bpong.com and i stopped out of common respect.

that said, i am done posting about this topic - it's really not my business and looking back i shouldn't have said anything to begin with.
