  • hey Billy, last year the sign in process and recieving team schedule was confusing for me (maybe it wasn't for anyone else). The sign-in was by individual and the schedules were distributed by team name. Me and my partner lined up to sign-in by our team name and after waiting to get to the front of the line found out we were in the wrong line. So the next day we lined up to get the schedule by our last name and again were in the wrong line since it was distributed by team name.

Is there anyway you could just post a sign this year explaining that.

Another issue i had, which i've brought up on here before, was announcing if there was a delay in start times. Me and my partner wanted to gamble inbetween games but because we were behind on the schedule we ended up just waiting around in the convention center since there was only about 20 minutes from the end of our games until the scheduled start time of our next game.
Is there anyway you could post a sign stating officially how far behind the schedule is running. Or at least making an announcement at some point during the day that you will be making an effort to get back on schedule or not. (if our game is scheduled for 2:00 and you're 30 minutes behind we would forfeit if we got there at 2:15 and you'd gotten back on schedule, so an announcement that you won't be catching up would be nice)

My last question is if a lot more teams sign up this year, are you going to expand the number of teams that make day 3 so that an 8-4 record will still pretty much guarantee a spot on the 3rd day.

    thanks

  • In general, a lot of things were not perfect last year.  Some of them were directly caused by things beyond our control, but in any event, it really doesn't matter - things will be better next year.

We don't know yet.  We have some general ideas as to how we may run the semifinals and finals, but I still have some other ideas I want to explore a little more.  Personally, I would like to increase the size of the field on Day 3, but there are some logistical issues we'll have to overcome.

Up to now, we have always ran the schedules the morning of the first day of competition. We have always wanted to have this completed a day earlier, as to allow us to distribute the schedules with everyone's player packets. A number of issues have kept us from being able to do that, but we do expect to be able to do it this year.
