  • Quick observation - a lot of the ideas here are really related to what you do with the raw data.  The real issue is how to collect the raw data and how precise we want that raw data to be.  Right now, we just collect wins, losses, and cup differentials (and obviously team to team matchups, etc.).  We need to figure out how to collect more precise data.  Ideally, we'd collect enough data to be able to "reproduce" the game on a shot-by-shot basis (who shot, what the shot did, etc.).  Then the analysis is limited to the imagination (and writing the code to do the analysis, which we'll do if we have the data).

  • When we getting WSOBP III stats?  I know they aren't as detailed as these shot by shot stats we're discussing on this forum, but I'd like to see how certain teams fared last year.

They're just about done, I've been saying this for months, but I've been more busy than usual lately and haven't found the time.  But we do have them, and I am shooting to get them done in the next couple of weeks.
