  • What if satellite guys had to sign a generic contract for the tournament to be official, so victors could get the codes right away and any delinquency in payment would be between the hosts and bpong?
     
    Basically cut the players out of the picture, because as it stands it sucks for players to have to wait when they paid their money and did nothing wrong.
     
    I'm not a lawyer of course, and if that opens you guys up to massive amounts of potential fraud and financial losses then it's a terrible idea.

    It would be nice if there were some measures in place to prevent this sort of thing.

    The approach we always try to take to prevent this shit is to insist on having complete payment upfront before people can even think of running a Satellite.  Many come back and say they can't do that, so we start bending the policy for people.  I don't really know what the solution is, but every year, we go through this same shit, so every next year we say, "You must pay upfront," just to have people saying they can't run the Satellites unless we bend the policy.  It's a vicious cycle.

  • can people pay for half before then half after? or maybe give the people who pay for the whole thing up front a little bit more off the price...or more of a discount on products or something

  • We do currently require a deposit for all individuals running Satellites. We may very well increase this deposit significantly in the future.
     
    I'm not sure that offering a deeper discount to satellites that pay up front helps at all, because the people that are getting the discounts are the people who are going to come up with the money anyway.

  • All things being equal, I would rather deal with some bad wait time here or there rather than have less satellites being thrown.
     
    It seems people are getting their codes eventually.

    Been waiting over 2 months now for a code from the world pong tour.
    Even sent them a $200+ check for taxes that has been cashed, but no code still.
     
    I'm assured I will get it soon, but it's a little unprofessional in my opinion.

    Airfare for all of our satellite winners has been booked and confirmation has been sent to all of our winners... I think you should have gotten that.
     
    Satellite codes have been sent to half of all of our winning teams (32 people total).  The rest of the codes should be released by next week, so no worries, you'll definitely get it in time if you haven't received it yet.
     
    That all being said, the World Beer Pong Tour (WPT) will be rolling DEEP to the WSOBP4 with 64 satellite winners plus staff and friends.  We're taking it back to the east coast this year baby!

    Well like I had said I my last post, I would rather deal with some wait time than have less tournaments. It's rather hard to sell any extra codes if you don't have them though.
     
    As for the should be released by next week, that is not very reassuring considering the deadline is less than 2 weeks away lol. Any later than that and it'll just be a useless number.
     
    This second code is for my GF so it should all work out since I don't need to sell anything. I've got faith you guys will deliver the code in time. We did get the airfare confirmation, but you guys booked me to arrive at 11pm when the website says you need to get in before 8.
     
    Fortunately billy agreed to take some extra measures for me to sign all the paperwork on the morning of the 2nd, and I'm going to see what I can do about contacting the airline directly and offering to pay any extra money to have them grant me an earlier flight.
     
    Don't want to miss that tournament on the night of the 1st if I can avoid it.

  • I don't want to just be negative though.
     
    The WPT were well ran and everything else has gone smoothly.
    Also you guys let me pay a little extra to get a flight out of a closer airport instead of NY.

    We had a little bit of a different deal worked out for most of our NY flights, but since you're flying out of a different state I think we just went with the cheapest we could find (which was a lot more expensive than now because fucking gas prices went down 50% in the past two months...).
     
    Honestly, Sam booked the airfare so I don't know everything on a case by case basis, but I think that's pretty much what happened.
     
    Anyway, we'll have the codes for you (and the other winners who haven't received them yet) by sometime next week.  Keep us posted as to if we can help out with any changes in airfare.

  • Im in this same boat along with one of my friends.  We purchased codes that were won from the WPT and now 2 of us cant go and we were hoping to sell them before the tournament.  With the short amount of time before the sign up deadline, now were all going to be out $525.
