The best players I've seen shoot between 33 and 37%.  Man we're going to get smoked.

Man you were watching that day. I didnt think anyone saw that great game where I shot 37% and smoked everyone in the tourney.

This has been discussed many times, but I'd say a really good shooter shoots about 70% or so.

as a team we shoot 65%-70%

    I call bullshit. All ok

agreed, i would put money down that the team that wins the WS this year will shoot below 65% and probably below 60% for the entire tournament - that said, the team that wins may shoot 70% on day 3.

it's easy to remember those perfect or near perfect games, but factor in 3 misses per person per game and that takes you to 62.5% and I highly doubt any team consistently goes 10 for 16.

  • We, Stanford Beirut, shoot about 5% on a bad day and 95% on a good day.  I really hope we have some good days on Jan. 2-4 but you can never predict that type of thing.  We will probably go either 0-12 or 12-0 on the first two days.  It really comes down to a coin toss.

Also, if you claim 60% but have never "written it down," my guess is you're more like 45% in reality.  Writing it down is a heartbreaker, trust me.  I thought for years that I was a 100% shooter, but when I actually kept stats for myself, it ended up I missed almost half of my shots.  Weak.  I guess you just forget the misses when you're not keeping track.

I always thought I was around 97 or 98%, but I started tracking and it was lower- like 93%.  Once in a while I miss twice in a night and it completely ruins my stats.

Put your money up then bro-ski. We'll be happy to work you and you can write down our shot percentages while we do it for proof.

i would take that bet, but unfortunately there is no way to verify your claims in the long term. the best solution i can think of is if you guys play damo and tpfeliz in a best of 7 series. damo and tpfeliz barely shoot 50% as a team, so you guys should be the overwhelming favorites.

  • I think people (most people), think that they are better than they really are.  Therefor they lie about their percentages or exaggerate.  We'll all just see what happens in Vegas.

Dude, check the title of this forum - we're talking about the "World Series of Beer Pong," not a satellite tournament here in NorCal where 20% is considered pretty much unstoppable.  If you think nobody is going to hit 50% as a team, then in the words of Judas Priest, you've got another thing comin' (and that "other thing" definitely isn't $50,000).

Oh we will, chief.  Man I really hope you guys don't catch us on one of our 5% days.  I once airballed every shot for an entire game...but then again one other day I shot 6 perfect games in a row.  Some people are just streaky I guess.

I'm not attacking you guys BTW, I'm just pointing out that people have a tendency to exaggerate percentages.  Seen it a million times.  They pretty much always add 10-15%.  Been around this game for a long time even though I haven't been able to make it to the WSOBP until this year because of other shit I had to do.
