actually, i believe twig played pong on long island for about 4 years 2-3 times a week when he was going to school here not more then 4 or 5 years ago....

this is my point he obviously played all his college pong in LI, he travels here, and all his ws partners are from long island for a reason. bc this is where he plays, i know he doesnt play in miami bc there is nothing. so he is in the same boat as kessler. shepards ur exception and jason is ours. idk what the problem is here. im not calling mike v or kidd mafia out., its the complaints i read in the beginning by other states.
and fact is nj had nj, philly, boston, upstate ny all on last time and there was no complaints until we won about our 2 players?

so either u tell me the rule is u have to live in ny so i cant use twig or jason and nj cant use shepard or kessler (GAY OPTION) or u accept ur using 2 out of states and so am I.

idc about the location i was making a point when MD won it was moved, format changed...now that we won we have no say in anything?

Mike, the thing with location was, it didn't go back to MD - philly is still a 2-3 hour drive for them. If they won, and the location moved to how you want to do it, it would have been in Baltimore, a good 5 hour drive for your Long Islanders, none of which would have made the drive since most you guy guys complained about it being in Philly as it was. Philly is central enough to make everyone happy. And the format changed because that format didn't proce anything. Just having a double elim tournament doesnt show dept of a reqion which is what BOE should be about. it wasn't changed cuz MD won, it was changed cuz that format sucked.

  • The reason I wanted to play for Long Island was because Pop had asked me to be on his team last year. No one else asked me to join their team. I spent 450 between hotel, flight and food and drinks and the buy in. We won and I think I ended up getting 230 something for being on the winning team for a loss of 220 for the day plus the loss of pay at work that I took off for. I understand that all of you present your cases for the integrity of the Beast of the East, but lets cut the bullshit. Twig and I were complained about AFTER we had won, not one person said jack shit at McFaddens last year before the event started, most people knowing we are from Florida. This reason is because we won, if we had lost, no posts would have been made. Now this year people are saying you need to be from your region, and there is an upstate ny/ canadian team, and also a midwest team involving players from various states. Nothing is being said about these these teams, because most you think they have no chance of winning the event. Most of you are concerned about winning the money and having it to cover your ass in travel expenses and pocket the rest. Flights from west palm are 256 right now, plus hotel and buy in again and loss of work. Personally if I am not allowed to play with Pop and his L.I. team, that is fine. I wasn't coming up for a profit, I was coming cause it was such a great event last year, and we all had a great time. Pop said last year I could come up again for the beast of the east and I thankfully accepted. If you wish for me not to play on his team, that is fine. Please just don't sit here and post this bullshit about the integrity about the beast of the east if Pops cousin Sandra came up fro Alabama to play in it. Not one word would be muttered about it. Believe me

  • Jason, I don't think its so much as you guys as it was the NJ team - granted you 2 are being used more as an example, but people undestood your NY ties and let it go. It was NJ picking up Shane, Baker, and Hulse that most people I talked to had issues with. And to be fair, the people that did have an issue with you and Twig playing for LI did mention it when they saw the rosters, just didn't want to be crybabies and make a huge deal out of it.

for the record we took baker and hulse because no one else wanted them and they wanted to play... we ddint pick them up to try and get and edge or anything we picked them up last minute cause everoyne else told them no which we thought was stupid... so we made room for them and took them.... as far as this years event.... everyone bitched about it them and twig and jason so we made the teams smaller and got more ppl involved so this years could be different.... having said that.... hahaa... i think someone just needs to decide on this ASAP...  its gettin ridiculous...

NOBODY told them no. Everyone assumed they were playing for Long Island. You mean to tell me barry is stupid enough to keep Salerno and say no to Baker and Hulse? Give me a break... - They didn't ask, people assumed they were with LI and u came and swooped them up.

  • I can see the argument for twig and Jason playing for LI, I don't think their ties to LI are questionable. LI and NJ weren't the only squads that had questionably tied players though, take Shellys team for instance where people who werent on the other squads wanted to play so they came together and played. If people want to come out and play then I think anyone should
be able to, regardless if they're in the top 10 coolest people in their pong community lol

I think it is sort of unfair to be placing so much restrictions on our teams when the Midwest team
is going to be an allstar team of multiple Midwest states. Not saying I don't think they should be able to come play, I think they should. But I don't think we should be watering down any of the east coast squads because worst case scenario is gonna be these Midwestern cowboys coming through to our territory, taking the beast of the east title, and then talk shit about it for an entire year!Boxing

Having said that, I'm sure mike and garrett will be fair and understanding of the teams, the goal here is to maintain the integrity of the beast of the east but also allowing the most amount of people out to come have a good time
