  • there have been a couple beer pong tournaments in columbus earlier this season.  they're not WSOBP satellites tho--winners take down $500, i think (lame).  if you search "Ohio Beer Pong League" under groups on facebook, should take you to the right place.

i know last year, there was a bar up north that was a fledgling WSOBP satellite, but legit.  i recall the organizer saying how he wanted to make it bigger and better this time around.  i imagine things will start to heat up once it gets closer to NYE.

  • We are hosting a satellite tournament on July 25th in the Cleveland, Ohio area.  I want to make this tournament Ohio teams only because I was very disappointed in Ohio's representation in the latest AC tourney.  Most of you guys already know that we have the Cleveland area on lockdown but we need some help from other areas in the state.  If anyone wants to help spread the word about the tournament, email me at phisig1037@aol.com or sign up for the tournament on facebook or direct anyone you know to sign up there.  If we don't attract enough teams, I will open up the tournament to other states like Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.  I am expecting around 30 teams with just the contacts that we already have.  I am also curious about how teams would feel about an Ohio vs. Michigan beer pong tournament on the weekend of the big football game.  Drop me a line and let me know.

the more you shelter your in state teams, the less likely they are to get better and do well on the national scene. the only way you get better is by playing better teams, so why not open it to other states? not to mention it will boost participation and make the event more successful.

wianeks right, i think its pretty lame to shelter yourselves like that.....cherry picking the competition just to make sure an ohio team gets to vegas is cool and all but if you expect to have a good showing, your first look at good competition can't be at the big dance.
