im looking into starting a bpong league in tacoma/puyallup/areas around here, but i want to know how many teams are interested in this i have spoke to a few bars that are down, some we can play with beer some would have to be with water and we drink on the side. then we can take all these teams to vegas as we will also do as many sattelites as possible.

  • Which team were you? We were the Locomotives, we started hot but kinda fizzled out along the way and ended up getting 5th or 6th i think. We didn't end up staying to see the end.

  • What up guys..my partner and I have started a weekly tournament down in Graham, WA at a bar called Q'z and there are a couple of other bars in the area that are hosting weekly tournaments. I am in the process of creating wAbeerpong.com and I am also looking for guys to help host tournaments. If we get enough regional guys that can run tournaments in their area, we can make this thing happen like CA, NJ, NY, and MD Pong.  A goal would be to have a monthly WA tournament where all of the local leagues come together with a larger buy in tournament while also playing the regular weekly tourney's at local bars.  Let me know if you guys want to be  a part of this..

Nice! What are the details of this weekly tournament like buy-ins, time, day, etc? And you're playing WSOBP rules right? Cause most bars in the area that I've heard of that have pong nights usually play some bushleague elbow rule type tournaments.

That would definitely be cool to get to that point. For right now maybe you and swarles could sort of pool your resources so maybe someone who comes to your tourney in Graham and likes what they see might come to Tacoma or Puyallup or wherever for one of the tourneys he hosts. I mean it's up to you guys but I think if you were basically under the same umbrella it could mean very good things for pong in the area.

One issue I just thought of though is something I've seen brought up on this board several times... tournament hosts playing in their own tournaments. From what I've seen posted on here from people that have been around competitive beer pong for a long time it seems to be frowned upon. BUT, finding someone with a love of competitive beer pong who wants it to grow but doesn't want to take part in the competition is also much easier said than done. So honestly if that's what it takes to get legit leagues started around here I'm cool with it, but it would be nice to eventually get to a point where we have league/tournament organizers who aren't playing in the tournaments themselves.

  • i would love to team up with child and blow it up around here that would be a great idea. and i have no problem not playing in the tourny when it gets bigger, but while were starting every team will be needed to get the cash prize up and prove to the bar that we can bring these competitive teams in. BUT AS SOON AS THE A BUNCH OF TEAMS ILL STEP DOWN AND JUST RUN IT.

CHILDPLEASE my email is a couple posts above this email me if you wanna get something going together.
